Terms of Sale

  • All prices are based on the finished galvanized weight which will be heavier than the raw black weight

  • All work for galvanizing must be clean and free from oil, grease, paint, varnish, and welding slag to enable us to secure the desired finish

  • Small parts in quantities of 50 or more which are deemed to require spin galvanizing and work outside the capacity of our kettle may be contracted out to a third party resulting in an extended turnaround time and a higher galvanizing rate per tonne

  • As the process involves total immersion of the steel work into a bath of molten zinc, it is essential that you make provisions for hollow sections/fabrications to have ventilation and drainage points to ensure complete safety within our works and also to ensure the best possible finish is achieved.

  • Should we need to carry out additional preparatory work to ensure steelwork is suitable for galvanizing we will advise you in writing, notify you of any resulting additional charges and obtain agreement before proceeding; except where work is to be delivered back or collected from us within 24 hrs of receipt or the next working day after receipt. In these cases, we reserve the right to carry out any additional preparatory work required and charge accordingly without prior agreement.

  • With fabricated items, certain stresses are held within the structure following their design and manufacture. During galvanizing, relief of stresses present often takes place. This can cause a certain amount of distortion, over which Arkinstall Galvanizing Limited has no control nor liability whatsoever.

  • It should be noted that steel chemistry can affect galvanized coatings and certain levels of silicon and phosphorus in particular may produce excessively thick and uneven coatings or difficulties in achieving coating thicknesses compliant with the required standard(s)

  • The base price per tonne in this quotation is fixed for 30 days unless otherwise confirmed in writing by ourselves.

  • Terms of payment are net monthly for account customers and cash, cheque, or credit card payment prior to or at the time of delivery/collection for all other customers.

  • The minimum order charge is £75.00 Ex Works.

  • All prices are subject to V.A.T at the standard rate.

  • Any zinc surcharge on this quotation is subject to variance in the producer’s price of zinc. This movement could result in an increase/decrease in any surcharge quoted.

  • Should the work require any additional process after galvanizing, i.e., powder coating/painting, this should be brought to our attention prior to us accepting your order.

  • We will not entertain claims for consequential loss for any reason.

  • The quoted turnaround time is non-binding and is our best estimate based on the workload at the time of quoting. We do not accept orders where turnaround time or delivery date/time is the essence of the order/contract.

  • Full terms and conditions are printed on the reverse of our delivery note; further copies are available upon request.

  • If more than one order is sent on one load and the orders must be processed, weighed, and invoiced separately a multiple order surcharge of £12 will be applied to the second and any subsequent orders unless all orders can be processed as one.
